Terms of use

These terms cover using Outdoor Pros BC, the directory of outdoor contractors in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia ("we"). By using the site you agree to them.

For homeowners

• The directory is free to use. You contact contractors directly, and any work is agreed between you and the contractor. We're not part of that agreement.
• Listings come from public business licence records and from the contractors themselves. A "Verified" badge means we've seen that paper (licence, WorkSafeBC clearance or insurance); it isn't a recommendation or a guarantee of anyone's work.
• Featured contractors pay for a plan that includes a Featured spot. They take turns in the top spots.
• Check a contractor's licence, insurance, references and written quote before hiring.

For contractors

Your listing

• The free listing is free for as long as you like.
• Only the owner, or someone they've authorised, may claim a business. We check claims against the licence records and may take down any claim we can't confirm.
• Keep your details accurate. Only post photos of your own work that you have the right to use.
• You keep ownership of your photos, words and website. You let us show them on the site and use them in the marketing we do for you. If you leave, we hand them over.
• We may remove anything misleading, unlawful or not about your business, and may remove listings for businesses that have closed.

Paid plans and add-ons

• Plans and add-ons are month to month. There's no contract: stop or change any month, and it ends at the end of that month.
• Prices are listed on the site. If they change, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your price changes.
• Founding members (anyone who asked for a paid plan before our launch on February 1, 2027) keep the price they signed up at for as long as they stay on a paid plan.
• One price covers the advertising and our work. You never give us a credit card or login for your ads.
• View and reach numbers are estimates from Facebook and other platforms, not promises. We can't guarantee calls, leads or sales, or that an AI assistant will name your business.
• Enquiries from the site go only to you. We never charge per lead or sell your leads.

Limits

We work hard to keep the site accurate and running, but it's provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for work done by contractors listed here, or for losses from using the site; for paid services, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the last three months.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will post the new version here. They're governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
